ART AND LIFE

Rushing through life doesn’t always get you where you want to go. After art school in the late 1970’s, I embarked on a quite different path through life. I didn’t know at the time that all the experience I gained made it possible to get to a place where I could channel my energy towards art. Since 2016 I have been working steadily on my work and showing and selling in Santa Fe.

I listen to music constantly, and most paintings are named after songs I love, sometimes one that was on when a work nears it’s completion.

Making a painting is something that completely swallows me up while I’m working on it. I find it hard to stop till I’ve got it, but sometimes they have to sit and wait till the answers come along. It sometimes take a lot of trial and error and they get built and created over time.

Let us know if you have questions on any works, we would be happy to talk to you. Some of the works may be at our gallery partners so let us know and we can direct you. Most paintings are on hardboard with wood strips, sometimes recycled, attached a few inches from the edge for stability and to keep the work about an inch and a half off the wall so it looks like it’s floating. Some of the works are mounted on side boards that are flush to the outside of the painting and painted black or other colors and have no need for further framing. Some works are rough and pieced together and not always completely even, but they are left that way is in keeping with the style of their abstract nature. Most of the paintings also look great in a contemporary shadow box style and you can easily have them framed.
